Writing
Since being published by her school literary magazine in Ontario, Canada at the age of nine, Mathy has been a keen writer. She regularly writes essays, articles and op-ed pieces based on her own lived experiences of disability, and on topics ranging from representations of difference in media, to breaking down social perceptions and barriers to access, to politics and health. The intersection of disability and popular culture is a topic she is particularly interested in, from her days in academia researching the politics of representing disability in Spanish culture.
