About Mathy

Mathy is a writer, speaker and activist.

Through writing and public speaking, Mathy aims to challenge society’s understanding of disabled people, and encourage people to reframe these narratives to be more inclusive of all.

As an activist Mathy has campaigned for more than a decade with the charity Muscular Dystrophy UK. She has written and presented evidence to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Young Disabled People in Westminster, and has been interviewed on radio, in local and national newspapers, and on a national television. Mathy has also written essays, articles and op-ed pieces on a wide variety of topics, from her own lived experiences of disability, to popular culture, to politics and health.

Mathy was named a Trailblazer of the Future in 2018 by Campaign Magazine and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in recognition of her role as a change maker across the creative industries, and was selected for the Rare with Google Leadership Accelerator 2020, which identifies underrepresented future creative leaders who wish to fundamentally change creative industries for the better.
